Powell County Teen Indicted In Beating Death Of Infant

A Boyd County grand jury has indicted a Powell County teen for murder in the beating death of his girlfriend's baby.

The Daily Independent reports Brett R. Thompson, 18, could face 20 years to life in prison if convicted.

Police say 2-month-old Alivia Noel Worstell was found unresponsive on May 4. She was later pronounced dead at an Ashland hospital. An autopsy showed the infant died from head and brain injuries due to blunt force trauma.

A Powell County teen charged with killing his girlfriend's two-month-old baby was indicted in the case Tuesday.

Police and EMS in Boyd County were called for an unresponsive infant on May 4. The 2-month-old, Alivia Worstell, was was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Trial Date Set For Man Accused Of Killing Great-Grandmother

A trial date has been set for the Pulaski County man accused of killing his great-grandmother.

Jesse Durham, 21, will go to trial on October 29. Police say he admitted to murdering 77-year-old Elizabeth Arinsmier with a hammer in February 2012 after the two got into an argument.

Durham faces Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Theft by Unlawful Taking charges.
