2 Laurel County Men Indicted In Woman's Murder

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky (LEX18) - Two Laurel County men are charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in Clay County back in March. 47-year-old Jeffrey Taylor and 49-year-old Boyd Simpson were named in a five-count indictment for their roles in the death and hiding of Shannon Saylor's body, according to the Sentinel Echo Newspaper. Taylor is in the Laurel County Correctional Center under a $300,000 cash bond. Simpson's bond was set at $50,000. More>>

Apartment Fire Ends With Arrest

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)-- A mattress caught fire in an apartment on Ross Avenue in downtown Lexington around 11 p.m. on Sunday. Firefighters say the fire didn't take long to put out, but the woman who lived inside kept screaming and trying to get back in to save her cats. Missing Toddler Found Wandering Outside

CADIZ, Ky. (AP) - A woman has pleaded guilty in connection with the slaying of a family in Trigg County in 2014. Kentucky State Police said Ann Plotkin of Hopkinsville pleaded guilty Friday to three counts of complicity to murder and was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Crash Causes Power Outage At KY Kingdom

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)-- A car crash knocked out the power at Kentucky Kingdom on Friday. Officials with the park say a car ran into a pole nearby, causing the outage. 3,000 students were at the park as part of an outdoor classroom event when it happened. The rides were closed and free food was given to those students and chaperones during the outage. The victim told deputies that around 6:30 Friday night on Old Union Church Road in Laurel County two women knocked on her door. They then forced their way in and assaulted her.
