"It is our understanding this matter is closed," says UK spokesman DeWayne Peevy.
That comment came after the NCAA told a Birmingham newspaper that it was going to review the Eric Bledsoe report.
The law firm that was hired to check into Bledsoe's changed Algebra grade which made him eligible to play at UK never talked to Bledsoe or his agent. The independent investigation into the former Parker High star concluded that the reasons for the change were "not credible."
The teacher who changed the grade said Bledsoe made up some work, so the grade was changed to an A.
The problem is there are no records of Bledsoe's work. But the investigation didn't prove that it was improper either.
UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart says that not only was UK never under an NCAA investigation, but there was no reason to believe UK was ever under an investigation.
The Birmingham law firm of White, Arnold and Dowd completed a four page report. Records in Alabama are supposed to be kept for three years. There are no records.
The conclusion of the Birmingham City Schools is they don't like what happened, but they can't prove it didn't happen.
