1 Of 4 Charged In 2008 Double Murder Enters Plea

One of the four people charged in a 2008 double murder in Greenup County has entered a plea to a lesser charge.

23-year-old Sammy Bertram will be sentenced in August after entering a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit robbery in the double murders of 21-year-old Pamela Grizzle and 45-year-old Jeffery Long. Police say the pair was killed during a botched robbery.

Bertram was originally charged with two counts of murder, robbery, arson and evidence tampering.

Others arrested in the case are 24-year-old Chrissie Bertram-Royster, 24-year-old Willie Burns and 24-year-old Ashley Craft, all of Garrison in Lewis County.

Police say Bertram-Royster faces charges of murder, robbery, arson and tampering with evidence. Burns faces murder, robbery and tampering charges, and Craft faces a conspiracy to commit robbery charge.
