Five months after a Johnson County couple disappeared, their family is offering thousands of dollars to the person who helps find the two.
Larry and Sandy Blanton were last seen in September 2012.
"People don't just disappear out of thin air. Something had to have happened," Sandy's sister, Lois Fraley told LEX 18 by phone on Friday.
"You don't ever expect anything like this to happen to you. You hear about it on TV and on the news, but when it comes home to roost it's a completely different thing," Fraley said. "We'd like to think that 'yes, they are alive', but I'm not as confident of that, as I once was."
The couple's son, Willie Blanton was labeled a "person of interest" in the case. He is in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, accused of filling his parents' prescriptions and forging their checks.
"I've been told they think I did something with them," Willie Blanton told LEX 18 last year, while in tears.
Sandy Blanton's family is now circulating a flyer, offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the couple and the arrest of whoever is responsible for their disappearance.
"People will do something sometimes because it's the right thing to do. Sometimes they'll do it because there's money involved. I don't care what their motivation is. We just want to find Sandy and Larry and put some end to this," Fraley said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
