I just drove in to give Melissa a break and the back roads in Lexington are by far the worst with a layer of crusty ice and slush. New Circle road is fair (mainly wet & slushy) if you take it slow. I've seen a few reports of ice accumulation around a tenth to 1/4". This is enough to make driving hazardous and bring down weaker tree limbs. Light freezing rain and sleet will continue for a few more hours until we finally rise above freezing this afternoon. Southern counties are already in the low to mid 30s with a transition to cold rain underway. If you have to be out and about to take care of errands, etc. it would be wise to wait until later today if possible.
