Two brothers from Mexico have pleaded guilty in federal court to possessing 70 pounds of cocaine that authorities found hidden on a plane at a Bowling Green airport.

U.S. Attorney David Hale said in a news release that 21-year-old Dagoberto Garcia-Guillen and 28-year-old Jesus Garcia-Guillen face a maximum sentence of life in prison and a fine of $8 million after they entered their pleas in court on Friday.

Bowling Green police arrested the two in October 2010 after they got a tip from the federal Department of Homeland Security that the brothers were acting suspiciously while buying fuel at an airport in Oklahoma, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported (http://bit.ly/qufHNz ).

Police in Kentucky met the plane at the airport when it landed and found two suitcases filled with the cocaine on the plane.
