2011 Kentucky commit Michael Gilchrist led the United States National Team past Canada and in to the finals of the FIBA Under-17 World Championship in Germany.
Gilchrist scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, a game high in both categories, in the 103-83 victory. The US needed everything he had to win a game that was close for the first three quarters.
Fellow UK commit Marquis Teague chipped in 6 points and 5 assists.
The US will play Poland in the tournament finals on Saturday.
John Calipari is in Hamburg watching the tournament.
