7:00 Weather Update

We've got freezing rain falling over the northwestern half of the area as of 6:50.

The Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded on the southern edge to now include Madison, Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Casey counties as well as the counties between the Mountain Parkway and I-64 in eastern Kentucky. A period of freezing rain will occur into the early evening before changing to just rain.

The Winter Storm Warning continues from I-64 northward, including Lexington for freezing rain lasting into the latter part of the evening and perhaps through the night in well north of I-64.

Travel will become difficult in the alerted counties. We'll continue to track this storm.
