Traffic remains backed up along westbound I-64 in Montgomery County after a seven-vehicle pileup Monday morning.
Police say a woman lost control of her car when she tried to avoid a deer around 6 a.m. between mile markers 106 and 108. She hit another car, causing a chain reaction. A tractor-trailer and a semi without a trailer got caught up in the crash. EMS took at least two people to a local hospital for treatment. Officials called their injuries non-life threatening.
As of 8 a.m., one lane was open, but traffic was back up in the area. Officials it could take another hour to clear the scene.
