Welcome to 2013! Mother Nature didn't usher in the new year quietly, we started Tuesday morning off cold & wet with occasional reports of mixed precipitation (sleet and snow) and it's going to be a cold week ahead. Our cold front slides east today and lingering afternoon rain and snow showers should stay over eastern counties. Watch for slick, icy spots on the roads through the day. The cold really settles in Tuesday night and we're in the low 20s to brief upper teens under mostly cloudy skies.
The rest of the week looks fairly tranquil but remains cold. Highs will stay in the 30s with lows in the 20s. We will see a return to sunny afternoons and closer to the end of the week and more importantly get a number of days to dry out.
