Accident Leads To Arrest In Lexington

Lexington Police made an arrest Wednesday afternoon after a domestic dispute and accident.

Lexington Police say the incident began at 1845 Rittenhouse Court where Police say the suspect and victim live together.

The victim barricaded herself in a room, when Police say the suspect tried to get in using a sledgehammer.

Officials say several shots were fired in the home during the process, and the female victim received a hand injury. She was not hit by gunfire, say Police.

Police say the suspect then left the home and was involved in an accident at the intersection of New Circle and Russell Cave Road.

After the accident, Police say the suspect allegedly pointed a shot gun at someone in the other vehicle involved.

The suspect was seen walking toward Divas Nightclub parking lot, say Police.

Police say they arrested Courtney D. Kidd, 29 years old, nearby and was charged with assault, at least two counts of wanton endangerment, DUI and tampering with physical evidence.
