Adam Yosim joined LEX 18 the day before Valentines Day 2012. Needless to say, it was not enough time for him to find a lucky lady and dazzle her with flowers and chocolate.
Adam comes to Kentucky from WCTI NewsChannel 12 in Greenville, North Carolina. He covered everything from a former sheriff's deputy late-night arson spree to the strongest category I hurricane to rock Eastern Carolina. Then there was the report of a gunman with what looked to be an assault rifle on the campus of East Carolina University. Spoiler alert: it was an umbrella.
Adam finds himself in enemy territory for the first time since the 4th grade. That's because he grew up with a lighter shade of blue as a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at Carolina, Adam reported for the Emmy Award-winning student television newscast "Carolina Week." He has said his most memorable interview was when he sat down with Elizabeth Edwards to discuss her new furniture business and some other "business" dominating the headlines at the time.
Adam's most memorable moment at UNC was storming Franklin Street after the Tar Heels' basketball team won the 2009 NCAA National Championship. Go Heels! He also made an appearance in the Tar Heel's pregame JumboTron video for two straight years.
Outside of journalism, Adam enjoys performing close-up magic and cooking his own meals. He is currently trying his hand at making pizzas and bread thanks to the KitchenAid stand mixer he received for Black Friday. (Thanks, Mom!)
