Police in Madison County are investigating after almost $10,000 worth of items were stolen from seven self-storage units.
Police say that on September 8, the manager of Ft. Knox Storage on N. Third Street in Richmond reported that the locks had been cut from seven self-storage units on the property sometime during the previous two days and a number of items were stolen.
Several victims reported the following items missing: six to eight totes full of high end glass products, crystal, and china (The glassware contained a moon and star pattern. The brands of china included Lefton, Nippon and Fenton); three cases of Hot Wheels die cast model cars (approximately 120 cars in total); crystal Champagne glasses and goblets from the 1800s; and two sets of 16 silver flatware and serving ware from the 1800s.
So far, police have not said if they have any suspects in the case.
