Several people were taken to the hospital after an ambulance crashed into three other vehicles.
It happened in front of the Lowe's on US 27 in Jessamine County. Officers say the ambulance was running through a red light when it hit a pick-up truck, spun around and hit two other vehicles.
"This situation was a tough one in that they were proceeding through the red light with lights and sirens activated and another vehicle was traveling across the intersection with a green light. So it's a confusing situation for both sides," says Officer Kevin Grimes with Nicholasville Police.
The road was shut down for about an hour. Officials say a person was in the back of the ambulance at the time of the crash. They are expected to be okay.
Several other people, including the ambulance driver were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Officials say no injuries were too serious.
