Some animals at a southern Kentucky pet store were found dead after the owners apparently abandoned the business.
Police got a call from the owner of the South Park Plaza in Corbin after people were noticing a bad smell coming from the pet store. When police went inside Pet Kingdom, they found what appeared to be three guinea pigs, and possibly a turtle, that had died.
The electricity to the business had been shut off. Some birds and snakes inside the store were still alive.
At this point, the store's owner faces a misdemeanor animal cruelty charge.
