CARROLLTON, Ky. (AP) - Police in Carroll County say they have ruled out the possibility that another vehicle was connected to a fatal bus crash in Carroll County.
Carroll County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Jennifer Willhoite told The Courier-Journal that the school bus, which was carrying Head Start students when it flipped onto its side and smashed into a tree Monday afternoon, was the sole vehicle involved in the crash. Nine children and two adults were on the bus.
Kentucky State Police declined to confirm the information, saying the crash was still under investigation.
Three children injured in the crash remain hospitalized. A 4-year-girl and a 3-year-old boy were at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, hospital spokesman Steve Menaugh said. Another child was at University of Kentucky Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Julie Phillips said.
