LEX18 has learned another person has been indicted in a very disturbing investigation surrounding a family in Lincoln County.
The charges are difficult to hear, but according to a Kentucky State Police investigation going back several months, the nightmare of incest and sexual abuse was all too real in the Robinson family.
In October of 2012, Tim and Rhonda Robinson were charged with four counts of incest and use of a minor in a sexual performance where they allegedly even made other children watch the sexual abuse. Friday, a Lincoln County grand jury indicted Tim's brother, 40-year-old James Matthew Robinson, with similar charges involving the same abused children. Kentucky State Police Trooper Paul Blanton credits diligent police detective work for helping put the suspects behind bars.
"For ten to fifteen years, maybe longer than that, its been suspected. It's been through Social Services' actions of removing the children from the environment, that they felt comfortable speaking with the detective about what was going on," says Trooper Paul Blanton.
Some of the charges in the indictment against James Matthew Robinson involve children under twelve years old. He's been in trouble with the law before. Police say he was charged with assault fourth degree in Lincoln County in 2007, and DUI in Pulaski County in 2010. But police say this is another realm of criminal.
James Matthew Robinson was arrested by KSP and brought to the Lincoln County Detention Center at 5:20 pm. The indictment states he will be held on a $100,000 cash bond.
