Police in Henry County have arrested a man accused of using a machete to assault another man earlier this week
The incident happened at about 5 a.m. Monday. Police say the victim, Christopher Cooper, 29, of Pleasureville was spotted standing on the side of Highway 22 in Bethlehem trying to flag cars down. Witnesses stated that a fight occurred outside of Cooper's home with an assailant police now say was Donald Austin Broughton, 26, of Pleasureville. During the fight, Cooper was struck in the head with a machete and stabbed in the side. Cooper's injuries are not life-threatening.
Broughton is charged with Assault 1st and Burglary 1st. He is being held in the Carroll County Detention Center.
