Arrest Warrant Issued For Suspect In Fatal Frankfort Shooting

Police in Frankfort have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in the murder of a man shot at an apartment complex in Frankfort early Wednesday morning.

Frankfort police say Jonathan Stewart, 25, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. Somebody shot Stewart near the playground at the Hickory Hills Manor Apartments off Marlow Court near Kentucky State University. Witnesses say Stewart was shot in the chest.

Police originally said they wanted to speak to Marvin Boomer in the case and did not name him as a person of interest or as a suspect. However, on Friday, Frankfort police said Boomer, 28, of Frankfort is now the suspect in the murder.

Boomer is described as a black male, with brown eyes and black hair. He is 5' 9'' tall and weighs approximately 205 pounds.
