It started with an argument outside of a Lexington home and ended with arson investigators sifting through a fire scene early Wednesday morning.

Police say officers were called out to a home along Folkstone Drive around 1:45 a.m. after two men got into an argument outside, waking neighbors who called 911. When officers arrived, the two men were gone.

A short time later, police returned to the street again to investigate a possible burglary. Officers smelled smoke and called in firefighters. Police say they later found two men a few blocks away. The duo matched the description of the men arguing earlier and police took them in for questioning.

Crews put out the fire and nobody was injured.

Arson investigators were called in to the fire scene. Police later placed the two men found nearby under arrest and charged them with arson.
