At least one person was critically injured in a single-vehicle accident in Bourbon County Thursday morning.
The accident happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Russell Cave Road. A vehicle that appeared to be an SUV crashed and flipped on its roof just off the side of the road. A medical helicopter took at least one victim from the scene.
LEX 18 has been told that an uncle and a nephew were in the vehicle at the time, and the uncle, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle. There is no word on what caused the accident, but slick roads are believed to have been a factor.
LEX 18 has a crew at the scene and will have more details as they become available.
