LEX 18 News has confirmed talks are in the works for a possible plea deal in former University of Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie's DUI case.

Anderson County Attorney Bobby Jo Lewis said she's been talking to Gillispie's attorney, William Patrick, about options for Gillispie as they move forward in the case.

An informal pre-trial conference was held Wednesday morning in Anderson County Circuit Court. Lewis would not discuss the details of the possible plea agreement, but notes one is possible and a decision could be made when Gillispie returns to court on October 5th.

Gillispie was arrested last month after an early morning traffic stop in Anderson County. The former coach has pleaded not guilty.
