Bad Accident Closes Lexington Roads

The coroner was called to the scene of a bad accident between a car and semi in Lexington Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of Georgetown Road and Spurr Road. A witness told LEX 18 that he tried to help the person inside the car, but that they were unresponsive. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

So far, there is no official word on the condition of the driver of the car.

Lexington Police said the following intersections are blocked and will be re-directed through rush hour:

Georgetown & Citation
Georgetown & Kearney
Georgetown & Iron Works

Residents of the Coventry subdivision are being permitted to enter from the southbound side of the subdivision. Residents should inform the officers working traffic control that they are a resident and will be directed how to proceed.

Webasto employees are advised to enter the rear parking lot from Citation Blvd.
