The home of the Bath County EMS director sustained damage when a fire broke out in the basement Sunday night.

Dispatchers say the blaze started around 11 p.m. in the basement of Gary Bealert's home on Roland Avenue in Owingsville. The fire also caused some damage on the first floor. Crews from three volunteer fire departments spent about two and a half hours on the scene.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
