Fish and Wildlife officials say they think the same bear that attacked a hiker in the gorge last sunday may have moved on to Owsley County.
A woman was driving between Beattyville and Booneville and says she saw a bear cross the road near the intersection of Highway 11 and 30.
She only got a quick look and couldn't tell if it had the red ear tags which have been key in identifying the bear seen in these photos taken by hiker Tim Scott moments before he was attacked on Sunday.
Fish and Wildlife officials do say the area in Owsley County where the woman saw the bear matches the travel pattern of the one in question.
They searched the area but didn't find anything.
