A Berea College professor has issued an apology for tweeting a racially charged remark about a student.

LEX 18 obtained the email apology from English professor Jason Cohen. It addresses all students, faculty, and staff at Berea College.

"I am surprised at the stupidity and arrogance to have said something like that on a public forum. It was mind blowing," he wrote.

The college did not release the tweet itself and Cohen has deactivated his Twitter account.

Neither Cohen or Berea College administrators would comment further on the incident.
