Leave it to Jon Hood to sum up his friend with just a few words.
"Big goofy Josh," says Hood.
That's one of the reasons why True Blue Fans have taken to UK's center. But, inside that goofy guy is a caring Cat. He cares about people and teammates.
"Doesn't really care what you are going through, he will be there for you."
What's wrong with the Cats?: It's a problem Cal has been trying and trying to fix. It's not the last piece of the puzzle, but a big piece if UK is going to get it together.
Many of you have done this. You watched Kentucky and at some point you say it would be so much fun to wear that Kentucky uniform and play for the Cats. But, Cal is convinced that this team doesn't even know how to have fun.
"To have fun, the team has to be empowered," says Cal. "It can not be my team. It still feels like it's my team. It's got to be their team."
Cal has been pushing this for a while, but so far, the team doesn't get it. At times, they are too caught up in Cal and his antics, and theatrical loud way of coaching.
"The other part of that is, you can't worry about me. Please each other with how you play. I'm going to yell anyway. I'm going to jump up and down and get emotional because that's how I coach."
Cal pushes fun because he believes that has a lot to do with going deep in any NCAA Tournament.
To the media: Pitino was a master at this, and so is Cal. Tubby didn't use it nearly as much. And Billy G. had no idea. Coaches use the media to give a message to your players.
"You guys get used like a wet rag, you do know that," says Cal. "I don't saying anything out here that I don't want them to hear."
Most of the media probably understood that before Cal said it.
