Blood Donors Can Prove They Bleed Blue Or Red

The Kentucky Wildcats will take on the Louisville Cardinals on Friday, and the Kentucky Blood Center is letting their donors join in the March Madness while helping save lives.

When people donate blood Thursday or Friday this week, they will receive a blue and red game-day shirt.

"We are Kentucky Blood Center, and we serve much of the Commonwealth. We know we have donors who bleed Kentucky blue and others who bleed Cardinal red. It's a special day when Kentucky and Louisville play in the NCAA, and we think this is a fun shirt with lots of team spirit," said Martha Osborne, KBC's Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment.

To find a KBC donor center or blood drive, visit or call 800.775.2522.

Blood donors must be 17-years-old, or 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, show a photo I.D. and meet additional requirements. 16-year-old donors must have a signed parental permission slip, which can be found on the website.
