A severe thunder storm watch has been issued for portions of state. Including the Bluegrass region, until 7 p.m.

Storms are expected to strengthen during the mid-afternoon hours in the watch area, with hail and then gusty winds becoming a bigger threat in addition to hail this afternoon.

LEX 18 StormTracker Chief Meteorologist Bill Meck will be tracking the storms an will have updates as they become warranted.
