Bob Knight said integrity is lacking in college basketball and cited Kentucky coach John Calipari as an example.
During a fundraiser for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, Knight said he doesn't understand why Calipari is still coaching.
"We've gotten into this situation where integrity is
really lacking and that's why I'm glad I'm not coaching," he said. "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching. I really don't understand that."
Massachusetts and Memphis were both sanctioned by the NCAA for violations committed during Calipari's tenure.
Knight, who won a record 902 games as coach of Army, Indiana and Texas Tech, did not elaborate or take questions from reporters.
Knight, who has a career record of 15-and-18 against the Cats, is no stranger to criticism. A video-tape surfaced of Knight with his hand around the neck of former Hoosier player Neil Reed during a practice. College basketball's all-time winningest coach was eventually fired from Indiana.

Poor Bobby Knight; he has to be really unhappy. I have seen some whiners in my day but he rants at the top.
He reminds me oof a child that does not gets his way.
I am not a sports fan really, by that I mean I do not go out of my head when UK loses like some of fans does.. but that is ok for them.
But doesn't Knight know that is enough trouble in the world beside this trival.

If he had been at a fundraiser in Kentucky he would have made statements that Kentucky fans would have applauded, but he was Indiana and Kentucky had just dismantled the States team, so lets call his statement a small uplifting for the defeated.Negative statements shows no integrity and should never be given any type of notoriety. (Life goes on)

If I ever get close enough to Bobby Knight, I'll throw a chair at him. :)

Kentucky paid for their infractions in 88-90.They are under a possible death penality if caught doing anything illegal, coach Cal was not implecated in either UMASS or Memphis cases. This is not so with USC coach over the beasley deal, schools under investigation now include UCONN .There was Sampson at IU, knights old school, who left town and all but destroyed the program.Any school who has success is consided dirty whether they are or not,I feel that UK's administration knows if they hire a coach who does'nt play by the rules they could face the death penality and coach Cal knows if he is found to be cheating would end his coaching career in the NCAA thus it would be beyond stupid to do anything illegal.Wait till someone is found gilty before you start running your mouth, just switch Cal's name with Williams or coach K,Izzo or PItino or any top ten coach, all fight for the top kids coming out of HS and only certain coaches can sign these kids, are they cheating? if they are they will be caught and it does'nt take 12 years to catch them, for all of us UK fans live for today, u just gotta believe.Deal with old senile pundits and wannabes, its best to ignore the doomsayers and it won't be long before banner no. 8 will hang in Rupp and it won't be coming back down, first school to 2000 wins, with coach Cal nothing less will do.

Really... Can local news not be objective? It is irrelevant what Bobby Knight has done in his past...His comment was about Coach Cal. Every Coach and Human Being has flaws, as does Coach Cal.. He is not the next Jesus ... Just because you are a UK basketball coach does not mean that you are perfect. What Knight said was his opinion, and everyone is entitled to having one.
