Booneville Water District Issues Mandatory Ban On Non-Essential Water Use

Citing water usage reaching the critical point, the Booneville Water District in Owsley County has issued a mandatory ban on all non-essential water use.

Usage should be limited to essential purposes such as cooking and bathing.

Due to the extended period of no rainfall and the lowering river level, the Booneville Water District would like to advise its customers to refrain from any unnecessary usage until further notice. This includes filling swimming pools, watering yards and gardens and washing cars.

This advisory is being issued because of the forecast of little or no rainfall for the next week and the above average temperatures we will be experiencing.
