The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that happened Tuesday afternoon.
The robbery happened at about 2:40 CST at the Hancock Bank and Trust is located on Crossing Boulevard in Bowling Green. Witnesses told police a man with a white mask entered the bank, presented a gun and demanded money. After taking an undisclosed amount of money the robber fled to a waiting car.
Police located the white Suzuki Verona a few blocks away, running and unoccupied. It was quickly determined the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier in the day.
The man was wearing a black ball cap, black sun glasses, a white mask covering his entire head, a black sweatshirt, blue jeans and black and white Reebok shoes One identifiable characteristic for the man, he has a long ponytail. It is not known if the man is American or of foreign descent.
