A logging accident left a man pinned under a large tree in Boyle County Thursday.
Bobby Wilson Sr. said he and his son, Bobby Wilson Jr., were cutting on their Junction City property when one falling tree struck another, bringing the second tree crashing down on his son. Before rescue crews arrived, Bobby Wilson Sr. and his daughter dug the younger man out from under the tree by hand.
"I thought it was the worst luck he ever had when it fell on him, but it was the best luck when when we got him dug out," the elder Wilson said.
Firefighters had to maneuver down a steep hill with rope and a sled to get Wilson Jr. up to safety. EMS took him to a Danville Hospital. The victim was conscious and alert, but suffering from hip and back pain.
