A Bracken County man says in the past his estranged wife has embarrassed him on the Maury Povich Show, accused him of domestic abuse and, most recently, had him arrested by U.S. Marshals on charges that he kidnapped and assaulted her. This time, Shane Woods says her allegations are more harmful than ever before.
Woods sits in the Mason County jail, more or less clueless as to why he's been charged with allegedly repeatedly hitting his ex-wife with a car, then kidnapping and assaulting her. "Wasn't me," claims Woods. "Unless I have a twin I don't know about. I don't even know what kind of evidence they have or nothing."
Police in Mansfield, Ohio, a city located halfway between Columbus and Cleveland, have been looking for Woods since July, when a woman who Woods claims is his estranged wife accused him.
Woods says he didn't even know he was wanted. "I didn't know what was going on," Woods said about his arrest.
The history with his wife, Woods says, is a complicated and embarrassing one. He claims he hasn't even seen her since an appearance in 2006 on the Maury Povich Show. "Six years ago, she took me on the Maury Show to tell me I have a son!" he said.
In fact, Woods claims, the day of the alleged crime in Ohio, he signed a certified document at a Bracken County post office, in reference to that son, a child he says he's trying to get custody of. But first, he'll have to figure out the mess he says has him locked up.
LEX 18 tried to contact Woods' estranged wife, but could not locate any working phone numbers for her.
