A burglar punched a Lexington homeowner in the face early Thursday morning.

Police say a man noticed two strangers breaking into a vacant home he owns next door to his own home along old Main Street. When he went to check things out, one of the men punched him in the face.

The victim was not seriously hurt.

The two burglars got away.
