UK coach John Calipari and the men's basketball team made a surprise hospital visit to help lift the spirits of a Louisville man who fell at Rupp Arena during Friday night's game and was badly injured
For the Big Blue Nation, it's about community, the team and the fans, which is why everyone seems to be rallying around Dickie Gregory after Friday night's tragic fall. Jennifer Sizemore was just a few rows away when she saw the 73-year-old Gregory fall several bleachers before the game, leaving him in critical condition and maybe paralyzed.
"He was very down (Tuesday) morning and then when the team came in his spirits were lifted," said Sizemore. "He knows that everyone is praying for him."
Once complete strangers, Sizemore is now helping her friend's recovery. Sizemore says she's honored to now know such a wonderful family and along with Big Blue Nation is praying for Gregory's recovery. "To have each one of them say a little blessing with him meant the world to Mr. Gregory," said Sizemore. "He said he felt the whole Big Blue Nation's love and prayers surrounding him as the team was in there."
