The pilot credited with the 'Miracle on the Hudson' was the guest of honor at an event at UK tonight.
Captain "Sully" Sullenberger was the featured speaker at Sanders-Brown Center on Aging's annual dinner. Sullenberger was the pilot of a A-S airways flight headed to Charlotte when it hit a flock of birds over New York City. After losing power in both engines, Sullenberger splash landed the plane in the Hudson River. All 155 people on board survived what then-Governor David Paterson described as the "Miracle on the Hudson".
