Police say they have found a car connected to a Lexington jewelery store theft, but the suspect remains on the run.

Police say a man, now identified as Sheridan B. Sears, came to Gem Source Incorporated on Southland Drive Wednesday afternoon looking for an engagement ring, but he swiped two rings and then left without paying. Employees chased Sears outside, and he nearly ran them over as he sped off in a car. But witnesses did manage to get a license plate number.

Investigators say officers located the red Dodge Charger in the parking lot of the Nicholasville Walmart, and it belongs to the Sears' girlfriend. But Sears remains at large.
