Lexington police say speed and alcohol likely led to a car landing upside down in a creek, injuring six people Thursday morning.
Police say the car was likely speeding down Maywick View Lane when it blew through the intersection at Roanoke Road, hit several trees and then flipped into a creek.
Four people made it out of the car and managed to climb up the creek bank. Firefighters had to carry one person out. Rescue crews searched for about 30 minutes for a sixth person using a thermal camera. A police officer on patrol found him about 30 minutes later at Dan's Discount Jewelry, about a half-mile from the crash scene.
EMS treated all six people for minor injuries and mild hypothermia.
Police say they don't know who was driving, and they continue to investigate.
