A pedestrian suffered injuries when a car hit him in a Lexington neighborhood Monday evening.
Police say the victim stepped in front of a car driving along Appian Way, between Appian Crossing and Armstrong Mill, and the driver could not stop in time to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
Officials say the victim was alert and talking on his way to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say they do not plan to charge the driver.
Officials have not released the victim's identity.
