Several homes lost power after a car crashed into a utility pole in a south Lexington neighborhood early Monday morning.

Police say a woman driving along Wilson Downing Road turned her head for a moment and lost control around 3 a.m. The car went down a 10-foot embankment, through a privacy fence and slammed into the pole, barely missing a duplex.

The woman and a passenger in the car were not injured.

Utility crews quickly restored power to the affected homes.
