You probably saw it in the Blue-White game. John Calipari and his players have been seeing it since the summer. It's chemistry. It's hard to win without it, and this team seems to already have it.
"These young players that we have, these freshmen, first of all, they like each other, which is important. The second thing is they respect the older players, yet they're not intimidated. They're coming right at you and they have pride in their game too. They have a competitive spirit that they'll challenge those older players and I think those older players then respect that," said Calipari at SEC Media Days in Birmingham Thursday.
Terrence Jones is now one of the old guys of the group, which still sounds strange to say, but he's noticed it to. He uses the word "special" and they haven't even played a game yet.
"We've just got a lot of guys that can score and are very talented. We just have a great team right now that I think a different guy could go for 20 six games in a row. I feel that just with how special our team is," said Jones.
Is there still work to be done? Of course. There will be room for improvement all season. But as long as these guys care about each other, the effort will be there. It's all about chemistry.
