There is no defending the defenseless Cats who beat Sam Houston 102-92.
"I got to go back and watch this tape and then I'm going to be punching walls when I watch this tape," says Cal.
Sam Houston hit a record 18 3's, and until their legs gave out, they spent most of the night hitting over half of their downtown shots and ended with 47%.
"I just called the rules committee to see if they would move the line back," says the coach who says this is his worst defensive team.
Cal is live theatre, he hit his head on the microphone during his post game comments, and then said, "but we won."
Cal was on fire with his one liners.
"I was so mad a couple of times folks my head almost popped off."
"I just called the rules committee to see if they would move the line back."
John Wall said it's the players fault.
"He was pretty loud," says Wall.
"But we didn't do what he said in pregame."
Wall says the players need to look in the mirror.
"We are just worried about ourselves. We will do it in practice for a little bit and we will do it perfect, but then we do it in a game and we don't do what we are supposed to do. He is very upset with us tonight."
DeMarcus Cousins, who told LEX18 Sports on Wednesday that he needed to get off to a better start and he did on his way to a 27 point 18 rebound performance believes this defensive problem isn't that tough to fix.
"I don't think it's hard at all," says Cousins.
"We just need to focus and care about it."
And, that's why Cal makes 4 million a year, to make sure his talented recruits care enough.
