UK pulled another recruit out of Tennessee.
The Cats signed Darrell "D.J." Warren out of Alcoa High School Wednesday.
The 6-foot 215 pounder was named "Mr. Football" lineman in Tennessee Class AA. He was also named to the Nashville Tennessean All-State "Dream Team". Warren was a three-year starter on the Alcoa High School juggernaut that posted seven-consecutive state championships. He was a three-year starter at defensive end and two-year regular at running back. He was Alcoa's MVP as a senior and also earned MVP honors in the state championship game.
Warren rushed for 1,300 yards and 36 touchdowns as a senior. Defensively he totaled 84 tackles, incuding 26 for a loss and 16 QB sacks.
"D.J. falls in the same line as Randall Cobb and Tyler Robinson - great kid, tremendous worker, big motor and a winner. He's a physical player, very quick off the ball. He also was a great player offensively. I think he could play either side of the ball," Alcoa coach Gary Rankin said.
Warren originally committed to Tennessee Chatanooga, but decommitted to sign with the Cats.
