A homeless man who was found dead inside an abandoned house early Wednesday morning has died of natural causes, the Fayette County Coroner's Office said.

Paul W. Coffman, 58, was found unresponsive by Lexington police at 439 Georgetown Street around 12:30 a.m., after receiving a tip that a man was passed out inside a house.

Hypothermia has been ruled out as a contributing cause to Coffman's death, the Coroner's Office said.

First responders initially told LEX 18 on scene that they believed cold weather played a role in Coffman's death.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
