Central Ky. Counties Seek To Clarify Borders

DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A central Kentucky county is hoping state officials and lawmakers can settle where it's boundary is with a neighboring county nearly two decades after a judge ruled on the issue.

Boyle County Judge-Executive Harold McKinney and County Attorney Richard Campbell visited the state Division of Land Records and have handed a legislator a resolution in an effort to clarify where the boundary between Boyle and Lincoln counties is.

The Danville Advocate-Messenger reports the issue has taken on some urgency in advance of the 2010 Census. Census numbers are used in to calculate federal funding for programs, so getting an accurate Census count is important. It is not known how many people live along the boundary in question; Campbell said it could be as many as 200.
