Centre College in Danville has been locked down due to a "double murder" at a nearby business and Boyle County schools are also now on lockdown after the Boyle County coroner was called to a pawn shop after a possible robbery and shooting at the business Friday morning.
The text message sent out by Centre College said that the campus had been locked down. The BCTC Danville campus has also been locked down.
The incident happened just after 9 a.m. at the ABC Gold Games And More on Fourth Street in Danville. So far, no other details have been released, and police have not confirmed any fatalities at the pawn shop.
It is also Family Weekend at Centre College, and the school sent a text to students that, "if your families are on campus, please advise them by text to get into a secure building and remain there until further notice."
LEX 18 has a crew at the scene and will have more details as they become available.
