True Blue Fans were already been lining up across the street from Memorial Coliseum well before the time (5AM, Oct. 2nd) they could actually pitch their tents in the line for Big Blue Madness tickets.
As UK Head Basketball Coach, John Calipari, would say, "You people are crazy."
But, that also has the coach worried about the event. Last year, fans had to brave some cold weather while waiting for the ticket distribution. Then, when the lines finally opened, there was some jostling for position.
So, Coach Calipari wants to make sure everyone that's in line is aware of taking care of their fellow True Blue Fans. To treat them with respect this year as each one moves up the line to get tickets.
"The best thing is that it's an event that you see Grandmothers, their daughter, grandchildren, they're great grandchildren. You have babies, it's crazy," said Coach Cal. "And, all we say is, when you're lining up, just be safe and respect everybody and have a ball. This is a tradition here. There may be other schools that do it, but not to this level. But, it's a fun time. And, it's one of those things that people look forward to."
