After UK stopped Louisiana-Monroe with a three and out, UK didn't waste much time making it 7--0.
Like last week against Auburn, Randall Cobb takes the first snap, but this time completes a short pass to Gene McCaskill for 9 yards.
Fullback John Connor takes over. First a brilliant 39 yard run to the one. Then, UK did the right thing. Connor takes it in.
UK leads 7--zip with 11:04 to go in the first quarter. UK scores on a 6 play 54 yard drive.
UK quickly strikes again. After stopping Louisiana-Monroe after three downs, Randall Cobb takes the punt 73 yards to the house. UK leads 14-0.
The Cats special teams made 4 terrific blocks to spring Cobb, and got lucky when it looked like LaRod King could have been called on a penalty with a block to the back.
The last time UK ran back a punt was 2006 ULM when Rafael Little ran it back 83 yards.
Bad news for UK. Micah Johnson, the SEC defensive player of the week limped off the field. He has a strained knee.
With the crowd half asleep, Cobb wakes them up.
First he catches an 11 yard catch on third and 8 with a high hard throw from Morgan Newton.
Then, on the next snap he runs 28 yards to the 11.
Then, on the next snap, Cobb runs it in. 21----0 UK with 11 minutes to go in the half. It's an 8 play 63 yard drive that takes 3:46.
ULM gets on the board with 4:52 to go in the half.
Cody Wells, making his first start hits Luther Ambrose with a 10 yard hookup and it's 21-7 UK.
UK quickly gets it back. First Cobb hits Chris Matthews on a pretty 37 yard throw and catch.
On the next play, Will Fidler finds John Connor who takes it in from the 25.
UK leads 28-7 with 3:08 to go.
4 plays 83 yards that takes only 1:41.
It's the most points UK has scored 28 in a half since playing Florida Atlantic in 2007.
Sam Maxwell leads UK with 6 tackles at the half.
ULM gets back in it as Frank Goodin runs it in from the three with :49 seconds to go in the third quarter.
Matt Roark blocks the extra point. It's his fourth blocked kick of his career. That is why he wasn't redshirted to get stronger as a wide out.

After UK gets a team safety after Will Fidler throws a pick on a long pass to Chris Matthews that he took to long to let it loose, UK's defense ices the game.
Sophomore Randall Burden picks off a pass and returns it 50 yards to make it 36-13. The extra point failed.
Rich Brooks said he isn't happy being 4-3, but he's a lot happier today than he was two weeks ago.
